Plate Services for Flexo Print Work
We handle the plate-related steps that matter most when a job needs to print cleanly and repeatably. That includes flexo photopolymer plate-making, file review, imposition planning and the checks that help reduce avoidable errors before production begins.
Printers come to us with label runs, carton work, short production batches and repeat orders where consistency matters. Whether you are running narrow web labels or packaging jobs with tighter register demands, the aim is the same: useful plate support, clear job handling and steady communication from our Midrand base.
How to Choose the Right Service
Not every job needs the same level of support. Some files are print-ready and only need plate making, while others need preflight checks, proof comparison or advice on how the artwork should be built for the press. Choosing the right service upfront saves time and helps avoid waste.
- Artwork Preflight for files that need a first check before processing
- File Checking for image, font and layout issues that can affect output
- Imposition Planning when jobs must be set out efficiently on press sheets or rolls
- Screening Support for print detail that needs careful tonal handling
- Technical Job Advice when the artwork, plate or press setup needs practical input
If you are not sure which service fits the job, send the details through the enquiry form on our contact page and we will point you in the right direction.
Artwork, Proofs and Prepress Checks
Good plate work starts before the plate room. We look at supplied files for items that can affect the final print, such as low-resolution images, missing links, incorrect overprints, layout faults and unwanted bleed issues. This is especially useful on labels where small text and fine graphics need care.
When a proof is available, we can compare it against the supplied artwork and pick up differences that should be resolved before plates are made. It is a practical step for printers who want fewer surprises on press, especially when jobs move between different substrates or require tighter colour handling.
- Check supplied artwork before output
- Compare proofs against final files
- Spot issues that may affect plate reproduction
- Support consistent results across repeat jobs
Plate Making, Trimming and Labelling
Our core work is flexo photopolymer plate-making for label and packaging printers. Once the files are prepared, the plates are processed with the job requirements in mind, then trimmed and labelled so they are easier to identify on site. That helps with press set-up, storage and repeat production later on.
We also assist with remake support when a plate needs replacing or updating. Sometimes the change is minor, sometimes the job has moved on and the plate set needs adjustment. In each case, the focus is on getting the right plates out with the right details, ready for the next stage.
Dispatch Packing, Collection and Delivery
We are based in Midrand, Gauteng and work with courier delivery across South Africa, including Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban, Cape Town and Gqeberha. We also support East Rand and West Rand printers who need local collection coordination or direct delivery to keep jobs moving.
Dispatch packing is handled to suit the job size and travel conditions. That matters in summer heat, coastal humidity and when deliveries are moving through busy industrial areas where handling can be rough. We pack plates for practical movement and label them clearly for easier receiving at the other end.

Working With a Small, Direct Team
Our team is led by Sibusiso Mthembu, Managing Director, with Ayesha Naidoo in Production, Pieter van Wyk in Prepress, Lerato Molefe handling client services, Morne Jacobs on plate mounting and Zinhle Dlamini coordinating logistics. That structure keeps the work practical and direct, so the person handling your query understands where it sits in the production line.
Clients reach us through the enquiry form on our contact page, which keeps the handover simple and lets us review the job details before we respond. If you are planning a repeat label run, a packaging job with tighter tolerances, or a remake that needs careful handling, we can work from the information you send and advise on the next step.
A Useful Starting Point for Printers
This page brings the plate services together in one place so you can choose the right starting point for your job. Some printers only need plate making, while others need help with file checking, proof comparison or collection coordination. The right mix depends on the artwork, the press and how the job will move through production.
Flexo Printer Plates has been supporting printers since 2007, with a service range shaped around day-to-day production needs rather than theory. If you need clear plate support from a Midrand base with delivery across South Africa, this is where to start.
